WEST BENGAL RECRUITMENT OF POLICE CONSTABLES (MEN), 2015-16:
West Bengal Police recruitment board has now announced a notification for the recruitment to the posts of Constables (Male) in West Bengal Police. All the candidates need to pay a non-refundable Application fees of Rs.150/- except those belonging to SC/ST of West Bengal only. There is no fee exemption for other states SC/ST candidates.
POST AND VACANCIES:
Constable (Male) – 4284 vacancies
The candidate must be a citizen of India and must be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 27 years as on01.01.2015.However, further age relaxation will be given as per govt. norms.
The candidate must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from any other Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government.
There will be Minimum physical standard required for the recruitment i.e.
For candidates of all categories except Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and Scheduled Tribes: Height – 167 cm (Barefoot), Chest – 78 cm and weight will be proportionate to height as per medical standard.
For Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and Scheduled Tribes Candidates: Height – 160 cm (Barefoot), Chest – 76 cm and weight will be proportionate to height as per medical standard.
Rs.5, 400-25,200/- (i.e. Pay Band-2) + Grade Pay Rs.2, 600/-
Candidates will be called for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and candidates who qualify in PET and PMT will be called for written examination followed by the interview.
Physical Measurement Test: The height and weight will be measured by using Electronic Machines.
Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates who will qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET i.e. Long Distance Run -1600 mtr. (Qualifying time is 06 minutes 30 seconds)
Written Examination: Written examination will have 60 MCQs of 90 marks carrying 1.5 marks attempted in 1 hour.
General Awareness and General Knowledge – 30 marks (20 questions) English – 24 marks (16 questions)
Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik Standard) – 24 marks (16 questions) Reasoning – 12 marks (8 questions)
Interview: Candidates who will be qualified in written examination will be called for 10 marks interview in which the General awareness and suitability of the candidate will be tested.
After that there will be Medical examination and verification of certificates of successful candidates.
