The next step involved in the admission to engineering colleges is counseling. Counseling is announced soon after the declaration of the results. Admission is assured based on the counseling process, scores obtained at the entrance examination as well as the aggregate percentage obtained at higher secondary.

Post declaration of results, eligible candidates need to opt for an online registration filling up basic details like date of birth, application number, roll number and name. Candidates need to mention their choices in the registration form itself prior to coming in for the first round of counseling. Candidates need to report at their respective Admission Centers for the first round of counseling. Allotment of seats is available depending on the score in the joint entrance examination and preference mentioned in the form. After a total of three rounds of counseling sessions, candidates are allotted seats in engineering colleges.
