Casio: Japanese electronics company Casio has appointed A R Rahman as brand ambassador for its electronic musical instruments division.

Vodafone’s M-Pesa: Vodafone India has entered into a partnership with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) to allow online booking of railway tickets through mobile phones with Vodafone M-Pesa as a payment option. Vodafone M-Pesa is a unique mobile money transfer and payment service system.

National Thermal Power Corporations (NTPC): Indian Maharatna Company NTPC has tied up loans of $250 million with Mizuho Bank Limited’s Singapore branch for funding its expansion plans. 

Ashraf Ghani Ahmazai: Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai was sworn-in as the new president of Afghanistan.

India Food Park: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated India Food Park at Tumkur, Karnataka.
