Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2014: Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2014 for ten scientists in recognition of their work. The selected awardees are Roop Mallik, Kavirayani Ramkrishna Prasad, Souvik Maiti, Sachchida Nand Tripathi, Venkata Mohan, Soumen Chakrabarti, Kaushal Kumar Verma, Anurag Agrawal, Pratap Raychaudhuri and Sadiqali Abbas Rangwala.

State Bank of India (SBI): State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest lender on 26 September 2014 announced that it has signed a Line of Credit (LoC) of 500 million dollar with Export-Import Bank of Korea.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan resigned: Prithviraj Chavan has resigned as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra after his government was reduced to a minority. Chavan submitted his resignation to governor of the state C Vidyasagar Rao.
