Zulfiya Chinshanlo: Kazakhstan weightlifter Zulfiya Chinshanlo broke her own world record for the clean and jerk in the women’s 53kg weightlifting category competition with lift of 132kg at the Asian Games 2014.

Fortune list of powerful Asia-Pacific women: According to the latest rankings of Fortune list of powerful Asia-Pacific women 8 Indian women are in the list. ICICI Bank chief Chanda Kochhar has made it to the Fortune list of 25 most powerful women (2nd). Chanda Kochhar, ranked highest among the Indian women, while SBI’s Arundhati Bhattacharya (4th), HPCL’s Nishi Vasudeva (5th) and Axis Bank’s Shikha Sharma (10th). Australian banking major Westpac’s chief Gail Kelly has topped in the list.

Nalanda University, Bihar: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has formally announced at that the government has sanctioned 2717 crore rupees for a period of 10 years to develop the University.
