17th Asian Games, Incheon 2014: Indian finished in 8th position with 57 medals (11 gold, 10 silver and 36 bronze) in the Asian Games 2014. China has finished at top position in the medal tally list with 343 medals followed by South Korea with 234 medals. Diversity Shines Here was the official slogan of the Games.

Rajasthan: Rajasthan became the first state of India to start Olive refinery. The refinery established at an expense of 3.75 crore rupees in Lunkaransar area of Bikaner.   

PM Narendra Modi, Mann Ki Baat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the countrymen over radio for the first time in his programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Mann Ki Baat is a new initiative of Narendra Modi to reach out maximum people.

Dongfeng – 31B: China has flight-tested an upgraded version of its 10,000 km range Dongfeng – 31B missile. The Dongfeng – 31B is an upgraded version of the Dongfeng – 31A. 

LIC, India: Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has received more than Rs 11,500 crore in income tax refunds and a big portion of the amount would be passed on to policyholders, an official said.

BHEL: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a contract worth Rs 359 crore for setting up a plant power distribution system package for an NMDC steel plant in Chhattisgarh.

Cipla, India: Drug Company Cipla has signed an agreement with its Iranian distributer to set up a manufacturing unit in Iran.
