Sania Mirza: The Sports Ministry has confirmed that Wimbledon doubles champion Sania Mirza has been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

M.M.S. Rai: Lt General MMS Rai took over as the Vice Chief of Army Staff. He has replaced Lt Gen Philip Campose.

Kumar Nambiar: Teenage baseball player Kumar Nambiar has become the first Indian-American student athlete to be honoured with ‘New York State Player of the Year’.
